It was introduced around the same time as the larger Schutzenpanzer (or SPz) 12-3 Lang (HS.30) infantry fighting vehicle as used by the Panzergrenadiers. The SPz 11-2 Kurz is armed with the 20mm Hispano-Suiza 820 L\/85 autocannon.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe SPz 11-2 Kurz had its weaknesses: it was relatively slow and quite loud for reconnaissance, and because of the high gear ratio, reversing was only possible at a little more than walking speed (6 km\/h). Furthermore, the stub axles of the front drive wheels were weak and would break if the vehicle drove into a ditch too hard.
